If eyes could speak

Mine would tell you

That I’ve been weak

And that I’ve been strong

And that I do things

That are very wrong.

My eyes would tell you

That I love to smile

And that I love to sing

Every once in a while.

If my eyes could talk

They would tell you

Why I walk

Anywhere but here

And whenever I’m away

But I’m always near.

They would also say

That I always see darkness

In my days.

They would

Also let you know

That if I could

I’d tell you what you want to know.

But I can’t do that.

I know it may seem sad

But I’m okay.

I made it through today.

If my eyes spoke

They would show you

How bad that I am broken.

And I can’t lose you.

If you saw into my eyes

Then you’d see into my mind

And see that

I am the one who is blind.

I always look down

Or sometimes around,

Avoiding your stare

And how much I see

That you care.

I’m afraid that if you see my eyes

That you’ll see through

And hear my cries.

I’m scared that you’ll see

That I’m not the girl you thought was me.
